As India import ethanol from US, and India being an agricultural country then why our government is importing ethanol from US.
What is the cost of setting up an ethanol plant? What are the methods to get purest form of ethanol so as to use it in blending with MS up-to 40%?

In case of raw material, India is the second largest producer of sugarcane and third largest producer of wheat. Also India produce a substantial amount of maize. Our prime minister Mr. Narendra Modi is giving subsidy on new start-ups with minimal tax rates and interest rates in case of loans. With all such facilities and technological advancement, India still have to buy......???
Ethanol production is subsidized in various ways in the US. Probably the most important is mandatory laws that gasoline must be blended with ethanol. The specifics vary, but 10% to 15% seems common. However, while this would encourage production of ethanol in the US, it does not explain how it could be lowering the _export_ price (US to India).
But don't assume that the ethanol imported into India meets classical economic logic for international trade.
