The TCH in whole world have general characteristics. I need to know the specific characteristics of TCH in your country.
There are special characteris of traditional courtyard houses(TCH) in Iraq, have two courtyards.
1. The front courtyard is distinguished by garden and a big cage of birds
2. The Rear courtyard is distinguished by a small garden with a big cage of chicken and Ropes for drying clothes :)
The characteristics of traditional courtyard houses(TCH) in my country (Jordan) is vary it depend on many factors such as, climatic zones, climate approaches to the design principles courtyard, building size,building coverage, floor are ratio, paths and roards, outdoor space standards and materials of construction,.....etc. Please see the useful link: http://jordanheritage.jo/nabatean-architecture-3/
