I'm looking for a simulation tool supporting the IEEE 802.11 standard.
NS2 and NS3 both are good as long as programming adaptability of different people.
The options are ns3 and OmNeT++. ns support for linux based operating system. OmNeT supports for both Windows and Linux. It supports for GUI also. Both are open source softwares. my point of view, If you have good knowledge in c , tcl and awk scripting go to ns else OmNeT++.
OPNET IT guru gives full GUI flexibility, so, one may opt for it too.
Swansoft CNC and GloMoSim are best simulators with the size of simulated nodes as well as time of excusion
NS2, NS3, LTESIM, OMNET++ MATLAB-SIMULINK, it depends on your system
I would recommend NetSim, and details of the 802.11 Wi-fi (WLAN) suite is available at https://tetcos.com/wlan.html
We use NetSim (https://www.tetcos.com) widely and I would recommend it over NS2/NS3.
