If you have 1 slide in a 3 minute presentation about your work, which is on a poster at a conference, how are these presentations usually formatted? Do you focus on the results or just introduce your work?
Hi Stephanie, the slide should contain little information:
- Top : Title/author (highlight first name)
- Left : ('Problem') Nice color photo highlighting the general problem. Below: one short sentence explaining the society problem (A) (e.g. climate change increase poverty), one short sentence explaining your scientific issue/hypothesis (B) . (Oral presentation : 1 min)
- Center : a nice color photo of your experiments (samples, methods...). Below: 1-2 short sentence of experimental work. (Oral presentation: 1 min)
- Right: ('Solution') Simple color graph (trend, curve...) showing the major result. Below: a short sentence explaining the meaning (interpretation) or novelty of this result (this is the answer to B). Then a short sentence explaining the 'potential' interest, or benefit for the society problem (this is the response to A). (Oral presentation: 1 min).
