Have you tried searching for landsat images from earthexplorer.usgs.gov? They maintain an archive there legacy and newly acquired landsat images of the globe . I am not sure if the products are OK for the scale of your problem but the dataset is available.
If you need really old imagery Hexagon might be interesting to you. It was an american spy satellite operating between 1971 and 1986, delivering imagery at very high resolution (0.6 m at best, greyscale images). The data were declassified in 2011 and can be ordered for a small processing charge via the USGS Earth Explorer which was mentioned by Jamal Uddin Khan above.
If medium/high resolution is enough for you the Landsat continuity mission operates since the 1970s and provides multispectral images at dense time invervals.
