You can do that by to test before and after exposing if learning or training for targeted sample.

You can get that by listing out all the information that they suppose to gain from participating or listening to the program. Ask them to tick the information that they are aware. Those that tick all the information they suppose to be aware of will be rated very high, those that tick more than half of the information will be rated high and so on to the point of low level.

Personally I suggest an ordinal scale of three or five and you can use ordered logit /probit to understand the factors that explains the stated state.

I think, the level of awareness can be measured by a question that ask for naming the agribusiness opportunities that the respondents know, which should be listed by you in the questionnaire. Do not read the possible answers to the respondents, just check the answers while talking to the respondents. This will increase the reliability of data. The data will be the number of opportunities that the respondents are aware. This question will allow you to create ordinal scale with known thresholds. For instance, if the total number of opportunities is 6, the choices can be made as follows:

5-6 : highly aware (4)

3-4: moderately aware (3)

1-2: poorly aware (2)

0: not aware (1)

This way, you will gate an ordinal variable with specific limits/ thresholds. Then, use a multinomial Logit type model to model the factors affecting the level of awareness about agribusiness opportunities.

You may use both Binary and Ordinal scale. Prepare a questionnaire then firstly use binary scale, If answer is YES then follow ordinal scale i.e. whether knowledge is low, average or high. In case of binary scale if answer is NO, then question ends here itself.

At ordinal level you can use mean and standard deviation (plus and minus) to categorise level of awareness into low, medium and high categeories

As I go on writing the literature review, I find the nature of the questions and its outcome variable calling for categorical data analysis. And given the fact that awareness can be measured using ordinal scale with values ranging from low to high, then I am proposing to use Ordinal Logistic Regression. However, I am still open for any input and advise on the best analysis technique. Your advise will be received with due appreciations.

As responded to above, I would use both the binary and the ordinal. However, If you didn't trust the ordinal responses, you could ask what media impacted their awareness, and how frequently. So for example, you could ask, "Did you see billboards indicating the (agribusiness concept of interest)? DId you see internet banners indicating the (agribusiness concept of interest)? Did you see television commercials indicating the (agribusiness concept of interest)? Then, you could ask, "If you saw all three, please respond that your awareness is HIGH. If you saw at least two, but not three or more, it is MODERATE. If only one, then it is LOW. This way, your ordinal scale has some kind of criteria associated with it and becomes a more dependable and comparable statistic.

I think frequency count and percentage can be used as well .
