I have attached a drug to a nanomaterial by an ester bond and I'd like to study the dissolution profile by using a suitable esterase enzyme, and as there are many types I don't exactly know what is the best one should be picked up for the study.
If there is no specific esterase to degrade the ester bond. I suggest you choose a comprehensive esterase, like porcine liver esterase, carboxylesterases (hCE-1, 2, 3).
You are welcome. I just published a paper about esterase activatable prodrug and cited some related paper. If you are interest on it, you can find it: http://onlinelibrary.wiley.com/doi/10.1002/adhm.201300590/abstract
