For MIC & MFC & Antidermatophytic Potential of Essential Oils Extracted from Salvia officinalis, Ocimum tenuiflorum, Citrus grandis & Eucalyptus globulus
I suggest you to try a range of dilutions based on literature search for your test organisms. Both contact and fumigation techniques have been tried in antimicrobial studies with essential oils. Some researchers have used pure essential oils also. The dilutions and experimental protocols depend on your objectives and the expected outcome. There are several excellent publications available freely in Google Scholar, Google, PubMed etc. Please carry out a thorough search and you will end up with a rich harvest of publications.
I am attaching some reviews on the antimicrobial aspects of essential oils. These can be used as a starting point and look for cross references.
Are going to use them for bio assays after dissolving with a solvent or going to do GC. DMSO is good if you are planning to do bioassay, but for GC analysis even diethyl ether or acetone can be used.
I want to study the effect of the essential oil of Salvia officinalis on the enzyme alpha-glucosidase, which solvent is suitable to dissolve essential oil?
