In the hydroponic nano coatings, PTFE is using as binding material. In my case i also make coating hydrophobic with conductive. So, I am using conductive materials with PTFE. Here I found DI water is best for dispersed PTFE instead of ethanol. So, what is your opinion and experience whether it is viable or not?
PTFE (polytetrafluoroethylene) is widely known as chemical-resistant material and is virtually uncracked in all of the solvents. PTFE can not be dissolved with common organic solvent, such as acetone, ethanol and toluene in the presence of strong carbon-fluorine bond and stable molecular structure.
Please clarify: PTFE dispersion or dissolution? Dispersion should be simple, it merely requires a finely ground/chopped/milled solid. Maybe some days for testing?
Dissolution, i.e. producing a solution without precipitate, might take a few years of research in a very good polymer lab. And maybe some extra safety training....Polyethylene, e.g., can to my knowledge not be dissolved at ambient temperature.
Btw, "cracking" is a difficult term to use here, it stands for a process that Dasun surely does not want! Meant is presumably the separation of the molecular chains, but not breaking them.
Its dispersion. I have trouble about agglomeration of nano particles when mixing ecmven it is slow shearing with low stirr rpm.
To obtain coating you may use water PTFE dispersion with viscosity 300-400mPа·s for a good liquid spreading on the surface. After drying at 90 C the agglomeration of PTFE become possible at temperature above 380 C.
