One more vote for ZView. The only downside is it used to be free and now it’s proprietary, costing about $1500 for a license key

Agree with Manel Valle, Zview is free of charges, which you can download free of charges from the web site he recommended. However, the whole software (for operating the solartron, zplot) is not free of charges.

You can get commercially avaliable software from PAR instruments; Gamry instruments

ZView is NOT free of charge. In fact, if you don't have the license key (dongle) it still works but the results are poor, especially in what concerns the fittings. Anyway, it is an excelent software.

The only drawback is the fitting routine which is very dependent on the starting values entered by the used and may tend to local minima of the error function, leading to poor fittings. More sofisticated fitting algorithms could be used, as the Levenberg–Marquardt algorithm which has proved to be very good. I guess this algorithm is the one used in LEVMW (J.R. MacDonald) which is a free software (I just heard today about the LEVMW software and I am looking forward to test it).

I have tried it but, honestly speaking, it is not as user-friendly as I expected. The way of importing data and, especially, the procedure to define the equivalent circuit seem too complicate, so I didn’t go any further. That is a pity, as the Levenberg–Marquardt algorithm is quite effective in providing the best fits.

By now I keep using ZView and will consider to test ECE-Lab.

Exactly ..You are correct till now I studied the manual looks some what difficult to learn all the things.

Currently I am using Zview.But If we want to know the grain resistance from Nyquist plot.

Do we need licensed version of Zview software?

What should I do to resolve the problem of Nyquist plot?

In fact, to work properly with ZView you need to buy a license. Then you will have a USB stick that you should insert in your computer once every six months.

I guess that if you have results obtained with ZPlot (again with a license) there will be no need for the key on ZView.

With no license the software will only show a reduced number of points and the fitting procedure is poor.

Anyway, in your case you also need to rescale. Use the button located close to the "Printer" button (to the right) to autoscale all plots.

I have the same problem. Zview just pick up 15 point in my EIS text file. What should I do?

I have tried other software such as Zsim or MEISP. All of them are Demo version and don't allow me to fit equivalent circuit on my data?

Please suggest me a practical method. Thanks

In order to have full features of ZView you need to have a licence. Otherwise, it will work in demo mode and will only pick up a few points.

I also have the same challenge I can only get access to the free download I only have a few points. Please I have my files attached. Please can someone help. I have been hooked on my Ph.D research due to this. Thanks in advance.

Have you seen the RelaxIS analysis software? I work for rhd instruments and am the author and current main developer of RelaxIS. It is not a free software, but it offers a lot of fitting and further analysis techniques. It is not bound to specific measuring devices / software and can import a lot of formats directly.
