There are many online systems. For example, I use Zoom and Google Classroom.

In my experience the best way in online education it is google class room, but the must academic system , it is the moodle system .

Blended learning may be the best alternative. The lack of face-to-face learning is not always appreciated. However now with Covid-19 haunting us, teachers have invented many ways to perform distance learning but they also have to call the students on phone daily. It is not a special platform but the way a teacher is engaged in her/his students that counts.
Zoom is the best platform for online learning.
Virtually it is good one and most of colleges are encouraging to schedule the classes using Zoom.
Mooc is also best online learning system especially for engineering students.
I prefer Moodle, but will add that Google Meet or Hangouts Meet app (Android) helps a lot to teachers and students...
Blended learning is the perfect combination of traditional and remote online learning.
Blackboard is such a useful and helpful online teaching and learning platform.
