I plan to conduct a VCA about DRRM and Climate change... what are the areas to be looked into and how could I get data that would have a meaningful impact to the local community to help them in their preparedness activities...
The first thing I would recommend is using a framework that will allow you to engage the community in a systematic manner. One of the best tools I have seen is the NIST Six Step Process within the Community Resilience Planning Guide. (https://www.nist.gov/topics/community-resilience/community-resilience-planning-guide)
With regard to climate change, hmmm. Most people are not doing a very good on the hazard identification and the appropriate return periods they should be planning for within their plans. Once you start looking at the climate / sea level change models there is no consensus on the correct model and the models have affects are dramatically different.
I would focus on critical infrastructure within communities, determine criticality for each which is measured by Recovery Time Objective (RTO), then you need to determine the return period for the hazards, run the models, determine the impacts on the assets which will lead to vulnerabilities, and your mitigation list. Keep in mind that this is a whole community approach.
Thank you very much for the the suggestions... I will study the framework you suggested and I will connect to the as soon as I can conceptualize the study...
Could you write out DRRM? I have a feeling I could add value, but I need to understand your question more precisely. Also, VCA means value chain assessment (I recognized in the title you said different, so I suggest to put VCA in parenthesis the first time you use it after the expression).
