SiO2 / Al2O3 is an important property when making geopolymers. However, if you measure it with for example XRF you get the sum of the amount of reactive SiO2 (amorhphous) and unreactive SiO2 (e.g. quartz). Same with Al2O3. What would be the best method to simply determine the amounts of amorphous (= reactive) SiO2 and Al2O3 in a matrix such as fly ash?
