I agree with the previous answers. It all comes down to practicing what you are taught. This includes, thinking, writing and many other activities as well.
The best learning method is to write what you think, thereby encoding it into your brain visually and introspectively . Once your brain has some new THING encoding multiple ways, then retrieval will be much easier.
