There are good number of measures are available to measure the research productivity of the faculty members/scientist like,
1.Scopus "h" Index of the author
2.Google Scholar "h' index of the author
3.RG Score of the author
or
4. "G" Index of the author?
H INDEX is not a measure of productivity. H Index is used to indicate the repeated citation of articles published by the author.
FACULTY PRODUCTIVITY like all other types of productivity measurement consider: input + process = output + impact. The H Index measure the impact; other factors are still missing.
BALANCE teaching duty, research and other relevant academic duties determines productivity of the faculty. How much contribution has the person made? How much does that contribution impacted the field?
Greetings, I thing there is not one size feet all!! it depends on your school's current position and future goals. As a starting point, Google Scholar H, or Scopus seems to be good, but the real impact of a research should not necessarily counts on such Indices, the ability of a research in solving societies' real problems is a quiet important which is a too difficult part of estimations.
Depends on the institution the researcher is attached to and the goals set for/by the researcher.
