the best way is searching il e-libraries (key words in searching: "knowledge management strategy") such as ResearchGate, Google Scholar, Elsevier, Academia.edu... There are many others libraries but I use these ones when I search for documents... And of course for telecommunication sector, I often use IEEExplore library...

Don't repeat the construction industry's great mistake when talking about project management before discussing the nature of the project and establish a proper theory. Koskela, Lauri (2000) has given us such a theory and thereby the basis for complete new approach to project management, known as Lean Construction.

Knowledge management was a hot topic in the Danish Association of Consulting Engineers in the beginning of the 1990'is and in 1996 I wrote treaty on the underlying question (in Danish) Om viden i videnbaseret virksomhed. (on knowledge in knowledge based enterprises). Here I found, that knowledge is information conveyed through a mind.

I'm not sure the manuscript exist in a digital format any more but the printed book is still available from the Association.

Metja - one consideration is to map in Rummler Brache all the steps of the firms processes - adding links to information / papers / forms for each step. The management matrix and practice book will have some of the same links - it should be virtual for each of updating, communication etc. - good luck - Matt

Systems have moved on much after this and there are many sophisticated options available to handle both tacit and explicit knowledge. But like you have mentioned, the first would be to develop a strategy based on the needs of your company and then look at systems to map the functions to those requirements. The core challenge would be to connect the explicit knowledge that is generated through documents, drawings, etc to the tacit knowledge that is contextual and much harder to document. In essence addressing the Nonaka and Takeuchi cycle.
