What is the best Advanced Microeconomics textbook for Mater Level students. I am teaching the Advanced Microeconomics to Master level students. Please suggest the best textbook of the mentioned subject.
It depends on the students' background. Core is a fantastic resource (https://www.core-econ.org/ebooks/). I am also rather fond of Sam Bowles' Microeconomics. It is clearly a math book but not too technical and a more modern approach to micro than Varian which is a bit old-fashioned.
Hi, some books I used to study and teach were: (1) Mas-Colell et al Microeconomic Theory, (2) Kreps Microeconomic Foundations I: Choice and Competitive Markets, (3) Luenberger Microeconomic Theory, (4) Wang Advanced Microeconomic Theory (5) Jehle and Reny Advanced Microeconomic Theory, (6) Kreps A Course in Microeconomic Theory, (7) Munoz-Garcia Advanced Microeconomic Theory: An Intuitive Approach with Examples, (8) Varian Microeconomic Analysis, (9) Bowles Microeconomics: Behavior, Institutions, and Evolution, (10) Silberberg Suen The Structure of Economics: A Mathematical Analysis. Books 1 to 4 are more rigorous in their mathematical treatment. The other books are more intuitive even using math to different degrees.
