We can partially do for some of the components and that too if they are present in significant ratio. In this case, I guess the combination of TGA, DSC, XRD and FTIR profiles may work.
i know the FTIR method is it accurate ? and what i know is DSC is for melting point and oxidation time is there a way to use it for additeves ? Omkar Singh Kushwaha
There are two methods for quantitative detection of PE additives:
Liquid solvent/polymer extraction methods
Supercritical Fluid Extraction (SFE) / Supercritical Fluid Chromatography (SFC) system
Liquid solvent/polymer extraction methods, which involve dissolution/precipitation, are time consuming which its accuracy is lower than 90% .
Analysis with Supercritical Fluid Extraction (SFE) / Supercritical Fluid Chromatography (SFC) system is assembled to provide efficient extraction and separation of polymer additives with quantitative results.
