1. From where can one get the true impact factor of a journal? I have been told that the impact factors mentioned in the home page of journals may always not be true and valid! Are the following journals good?

2. What is more important for selecting a journal, impact factor or indexing? for example, whether one should prefer publishing in a journal that is indexed in SCI/ SCIE/ SCOPUS with IF 1.0 or another that has IF>2 but not indexed in SCI/ SCOPUS ?

Honestly , I ask my student(s) , one of them is in IIT(Bombay) and others are Professors (in Bangalore) I trust whatever they say !!!!
For IEEE , I have RG people who tell me about IF and I just trust them because they are students and they know better ...
Shaunak Vyas (on RG) he is associated with IEEE too ... He would know .
I would say citations are equally important .

But i have been told that many a times the impact factors mentioned 8n the home page of certain journals are not true. For example, many new journals claim a very high impact which are clearly fake!

Publish papers in well known journals. From my experience, now a days even such journals Editor are also promoting unscientific activities and scientific misconduct. Of course, it is a matter of very serious concern.
