You're right because, as you suggested, in cognitive semantic(s) "cognitive" functions as an adjective to "study" together with "semantic." Your translation tells what kind of semantics you are going to use as a framework, i.e. cognitive. In Arabic, the adjective follows the noun (النعت يتبع المنعوت), which is what you did.
Thank you Prof. Salam for your answer. Yes, you are right . It can also be translated into علم الدلالة العرفاني . Cognitive linguistics can be translated into اللسانيات العرفانية or اللسانيات المعرفية .
I guess that the most appropriate translation is the former one "دراسة دلالية ادراكية او معرفية". But, I don't agree with Dr. Salam when he called it علم since you are talking about a study and not about a science. Here, I am specific talking about the context of the question in which the focus is on the study and not any other science whether linguistics or whatever. Notice that you yourself said دراسة.
Thank you very much for your answers . I appreciate your interest in my question. I have used in my study two theories, namely Conceptual Metaphor Theory and BlendingTheory, which are related to cognitive semantics. When I have translated the title of my study into Arabic , I depended on the Arabic translation of cognitive semantics and the position of the adjectives cognitive and semantic . Dr. Salam in his answer has explained the reason behind the suggested translation.
Absolutely, I agree with your recent reply regarding cognitive semantics, but my remark went exactly to the words in the question. Pleasure and beautiful to have such communication. Eventually, I wish Madam Inam prosperity and success in all her endeavors.
I verily recommend What you have suggested simply because the head word in the noun phrase “Cognitive Senantics” is “Semantics” . In Arabic the head word comes first. Thus, in “cognitive semantic study”, the adjective “semantic” is modifying “study” and at the same time it is being modified by the adjective “cognitive”.
دراسة دلالية ادراكية تعني ان الدراسة اصلا دلالية ونوعها هو 'ادراكي'. حالها حال “
