I synthesized Group 4 Metallasiloxanes from metallocene dichloride. I searched this type of compound used for polymerization catalyst (ziegler natta catalyst). Does anyone know journals of the catalyst application (Polymerization is expected) for simple organic reaction?
We searched SCI-finder and google but we didn't get the catalyst for simple organic reaction. Prof. Tilley and group et.al. epoxidation catalyst using metallocene siloxane
Indeed, it seems siloxane groups were introduced only to the organic part of metallocenes (and not to the metal) for the purpose of immobilization (mainly of homogeneous metallocene-based polymerization catalysts). Please, note that generally you need two available coordination sites in order to carry out homogeneous catalytic reactions with these and other transition metal complexes. If you block these with siloxane groups, for example all the two sites in zirconocene complexes, you might lose their catalytic ability. So in order to reactivate them you will probably need to remove the siloxane groups (or at least one of them if want to carry out silylation) with a co-reagent, similar to MAO used with the dichloro derivatives.
Hi, as an example of organic reaction coud be used phenylsilane polymerization. We have used a series of zirconocene siloxanes (including also silsequioxanes) as a catalytic precursors for such reaction. The complete informations are included in Catal. Today 2012, 179, 130.
thank you sir, i already seen this paper, i am asking simple organic reaction like acetylation or acylation reactions in presence of group 4 siloxanes instead lewis acid catalyst.
