I have a number a wells were earth tide can be observed, but with very different amplitudes (ranging from 2 to 110 cm). Which aquifer parameters do influence such groundwater level tides ?
Thank you Robert for your answer; but I am not concerned about sea tides, but earth tides. These wells are located quite far from the sea shore. The tide effect (amplitude) varies from well to well.
Thank you so much, Robert. The paper published by Hsieh et al. deals exactly with the issue I am concerned with. Initially, I was looking for a method to "clean" the water level records (removing tide effects considered as a noise), but now, I am also looking to what could be deduced from this "noise", once it has been recorded.
A colleague of mine, Dr. Todd Rasmussen might be able to help with that issue. He has a lot of interest in these types of topics and might be a substantial resource: http://hydrology.uga.edu/rasmussen/
