Does problem identification excite you or is it writing literature review or developing a new theory or data collection or analysis or interpretation or limitations of research? An activity that you think you can do better than many others.
As I believe that well begun is half done, I look forward to discussing with project partners on the problem setting approach, (e.g., defining the problem we want to solve, the goals, the KPIs to measure, the system boundaries) and problem solving approach (e.g., which methods to apply to solve the problem)
From a management perspective I also try to reach a situation where responsibilities of the different tasks and sub-tasks got defined and to identify opportunities for collaborations or feedback within and outside the project network.
To me this would give the project a shared setting which all the team agrees on and reduce uncertainty of the following "core" activities.
