The last decade witnessed a tremendous use of computational power for various applications such as deep learning, MD simulations, and astrophysics. Is quantum computers really going to take the place of general in-silico computing? Isn't it necessary that we must be ready for an alternative? which are the major factors that affect the computing power of a common computer chip? Can we improve it further by Thermal management at the nanoscale or by material science? How much of an improvement can we expect? Which technologies are going to bring a revolutionary change in computing power?
