Till now we used NaOH only....Lets try some alternatives too.

1N NaOH solution is used to adjust the pH of the medium. Check your concentration of NaOH.

Magnesium Hydroxide has antagonistic effect on auxins and cytokinins incorporated in the medium.

Using KOH (1- 0.1 N) is also common for pH adjustment instead of NaOH in plant tissue culture, either for commercial or laboratory scales, especially for plant species with sodium sensitivities.
