After many reading to prepare my next classes, I wondering myself : data I read about the cabaret voltaire in 1913 in Zurich, Switzerland, seems to begin the first official manifestations of modern performance art. What do you think? I know that we made a udge step in the sixties with the happening of Allan Kaprow and the roof pieces of Trisha Brown. But what about the avant-gardes in Europe? Do you think that performance art was in reality created in cafés and cabarets?
