Contemporary Art combine now a lot of practices as installations, performances, videos, new paintings, hudge street art, etc. So, how many free an artist can be today? His work is unlimited or resctrited by differents factors (money, space, law rules)?
Contemporary Art is not decided by the artist only.The freedom of an artist is an illusion.I think when we say "art",it's meaning is an activity to break the boundaries.An artist,himself or herself,belongs to the boundaries too.
From my point of view, an artist has freedom to be creative. Boundaries are mostly imposed from outside. However, we need artists and other creatives to overcome a stagnation in human development. Mostly artists have a vision and they follow the new ways never making stop on/at a boundary. Look at the enormous development in the field of music, in paintings, street art, literature… and nowadays the speed of communication provided by the internet. Cyber Artists, virtual simulators, and other new species. There is no limit and no authority in the universe of creatives.
