For my material (carbon foam containing in situ grown SiC nanowires) the total shielding defectiveness is 45 dB at 8.2 GHz, out of which 30 dB is Absorbance and 15 dB is reflection. I need comments on this combination of absorbnace and reflection. Is it useful for some practical applications?

yes I think this material is usefull for practical application. Think, please if we have metal structures, the we have a great resonance character of the geometry an the reflection metal surface. This resonances reduce the shielding effect. If you use your material with a high value of absorption, the you can reduce the resonances and you have greather effect of shielding. For example a metal packaging of electronic device.
