Hi, I'm using SPSS and trying to calculate the effect size for my data. I saw a video by this guy who says to divide the 'z' number by the square root of the total number of observations. BUT, what if my z score is "based on negative ranks" and is negative and my r is negative- does that mean there was no effect?
