Distributed file is a data file with same name in different physical locations, but distributed data base is table wise each some tables are located in different physicals locations but they all considered as one database

in file system we have duplications and inconsistency problems

in database system we have complementary problem

They differ by the way you can access or querying; they differ by data format u receive;

The fact is : database has to be on top of a file system;
