Ship shaped vessel peak roll RAO is 3 (deg/m) for a time period of ~ 6 seconds. What happens if this vessel is subjected to waves with time period ~ 6 seconds. I understand that vessel will have rigorous roll motions in this scenario.
If this rigorous motion affects the functionality of the vessel (for eg: drilling or moored position), what should be done further?

1. Waves are rarely truly "long crested".
2. Ships are vulnerable to beam waves. That is why ships are made to takes waves from front or behind. Similarly, turret mooring automatically changes ship direction parallel to wave direction.

If such a condition (which I mentioned in the question) comes, vessel needs to be aligned such that wave heading is to the bow or stern of vessel. With a turret mechanism, it is possible, but what will happen to a 8 point mooring drill ship.

They will know from weather forecast that such an event (severe hurricane) is going to be there in near future. They will detach the drill-ship from all attachments and it will go to a safe location. For drill-ships, the riser connection itself puts more restrictions on ship motion. So depending on the predicted sea state and resulting motions, they will simply detach ship from riser and ship may stay at location or move away.
