You get a diode, since the current through the base and collector equal that of the emitter, plus the base-emitter forms a forward biased PN junction, whilst the collector-base are still effectively reverse-biased. This is exactly how diodes are formed in a bipolar process, and are used in various circuits, particularly current sources.
