Hi all, this is the situation.
The Holotype of a species of beetle described by monotypy was deposited at RBINS, but when I requested information about the box...oh surprise! Holotype is missing...
As many of the species described by this author had not a very accurate description (this usually happened in S. XIX), how I would be able to recognize the species from the country where it was recorded?

Sometimes, there may not be type specimens in the fund specified in the protologue. I have checked this in several of my research papers. There can be 3 reasons for this. 1) in protologue specimen mistake or another herbarium fund 2) specimen lost for some reason 3) maybe later identified by some scientists as another species.
