I often ask myself for long time and I have got a constant opinion since, but I would like to collect opinion from other researchers, French-speaking or not, including native English-speakers or from other latin languages or contrarily totally different ones (like Russian, Chinese, Arabic, Hindi, etc.).

During the past French was more used and it is less and less today until it becomes at risk of extinction for soon. Nevertheless it resists better than German or Spanish for example, while Latin already disappeared. Do you think its decline is inevitable? Do you think that is better? Can we prevent this? Should we try to prevent it?

Today it is possible to publish in a minority language and easily read the article by translating the text online through freeware or web platforms. Isn't it better if each one writes correctly and easily in his own language rather than bad and difficultly in another one? These are open questions, I expect collective answers ... unfortunately only in English (I posted first in bilingual French & English but my post was deleted by editors!)
