I'm working on gas chromatography of carbon dioxide. At the moment my carbon dioxide cylinder has a contamination of around 2 ppm methane. I'm running it through a standard hydrocarbon filter at the moment, which is removing all of the longer organics, but I'm still seeing the same methane peaks. Is there an alternate type of filter that would remove this methane?
My guess would be you could use a zeolite for this application. I did a quick search for you and seems this seems feasible. See for example :

Hi Samuel, there are a wide variety of commercially available zeolite filters available- im not positive this type can be purchased but you could search for SBN, ZON and FER types as a start... see:
