I'm looking for studies on different types of experiential learning, how these activities impact students, and what types of learning have significant impacts on a range of learning outcomes. I'm particularly interested in business students and experiential learning involving aspects of sustainability, but also looking for studies with all kinds of university students, all types of experiential learning, i.e., projects, consulting, study abroad, buildings and campuses as living laboratories, etc., and relationships to learning outcomes.
Experiential activities play a pivotal role in shaping students' learning outcomes by fostering practical understanding, critical thinking, and engagement. Among these activities, hands-on experiments in science classes have a profound impact on student learning. Through direct manipulation of materials and observation of real-world phenomena, students develop a deeper comprehension of scientific concepts, enhancing retention and application.
Similarly, collaborative projects and group discussions across disciplines promote teamwork, communication skills, and a multifaceted understanding of subject matter. These activities encourage students to actively participate in their education, honing problem-solving abilities and preparing them for real-world challenges.
Field trips also stand out as influential experiential activities, providing students with the opportunity to connect theoretical knowledge to tangible experiences. Visiting museums, historical sites, or industry facilities enhances contextual learning, broadening perspectives and making academic concepts more relatable.
Moreover, internships and practical experiences in professional settings bridge the gap between academia and the workforce, offering students a chance to apply theoretical knowledge in real-world scenarios. These hands-on encounters cultivate practical skills, professional adaptability, and a holistic understanding of their chosen field.

In my research I apply Dewey’s (1938) and Kolb’s (1984) experiential learning philosophies to the discipline of emergency management within higher education environments. As far the discipline of business you can apply many experiential models found within the pedagogy of experiential education to meet your needs. Dear Prof. Robert Sroufe, based on a series of systematic reviews we have conducted on instructional design methods e.g. [1], for complex competences and higher-order skills we propose problem-based immersive learning experiences and game-based simulations [2].
