I have attached a picture name as Image-1 from the research paper Li et al. 2021. here in Fig-3 this is written that " The different letters (a-d) indicate significant differences between treatments. I can not understand what does that mean? Can anyone tell me what does that mean? I have attached the reference paper.

Sanhita Saha You may automatically convert the term variance into the phrase differences when you see it. – As a result, the between-treatments variance merely reflects the amount of variation between the two treatment conditions. The discrepancies are the result of therapeutic effects.
The F-ratio is used to see if the variances of two independent samples are equal. If the F-ratio is not statistically significant, you can assume variance homogeneity and use the usual t-test for the difference of means.
Within-treatments variance assesses random, unsystematic changes among the samples assigned to each treatment. Because everyone in each sample got the same treatment, these variances are not related to treatment effects; hence, the differences are commonly referred to as "errors."
I think it means all treatments are different from each other since no letter is duplicated. It's because of the very small SDs. But I don't like this method. It's better to describe it in the text imo :)
