We have carried out high-pressure Raman characterization on some of our samples. After fitting, I have observed a change in D-peak position with increasing pressure.
What does this change indicate and what can be quantified using this shift in D-peak position with increasing pressure?
The D-band is the sum of various subbands. Depending on the material property changes, the excitability of these may change, see e.g.

Depending on what samples you are analyzing there might be pressure induced changes in the structure or they could be unstable under these conditions.
