The community based approach mean anthropocentric view - The bottom up approach - keeping people on top.
It facilitates learning of community coupled with traditional knowledge to cater the problem or crisis. It is based on feedback and processes of adaptation of community responses for the previous crisis.
It means involving people in all stages of program or project starting from planning to execution,monitoring and review. In a simpler meaning it just to help people to help themselves with more informed and scientific ways.
An all collaborative approach that equitably involves all partners in the process of sharing ideals and recognizes the unique strengths that each person in the community brings.
The community-based approach is describes climate-resilient livelihoods, disaster risk reduction (DRR), local adaptive and organisational capacity development, an enabling national policy environment, a good knowledge of climate change, and the addressing of underlying causes of vulnerability) that need to be in place for effective community-based adaptation to occur.
