basically i am calculating the average size and crystillize size. for this i am using the jade software for fwhm calculation.i would appreciate a bit information on the BG term and whats its use .thanks in advance.

Please have a look at the manual or a tutorial or at least at the help function of your software.

in general ( i.e. the case of quite flat background) there is no effect of background onto FWHM determination and thus on crystallite size evaluation.
In XRD evaluation software the background is in many applications automatically fitted because it is used (among others) for other parameters such as a measure of crystallinity.
