sir mohan,I think there is a need of the young talent also but at the same time the experience of the old people is also needed to run any institute or university for its excellent results. the generation gap is eliminated by the perfect balancing and understanding in between the two of the groups of young and old pepole.balance is the key to success.talent will be more effective with experiance.so both needed for great vision and good Administration.

I think age has nothing to do with as you write "tatented ...persons with vision and misson". My self personally I am much more concerned about the vison and mission than age. I certainly would not want a young replica of with the same ideological views as Ed Hirsh Jr..For me it is not about age it is about a person who remembers the birdge at Selma, Kent State, The Black Panther movement in Chacago, Chesar Chavez (who i had the pleasure marching side by side with).Not only this history but a firm comitment in expanding the traditional definition of literacy to as Freire argues literacy reading the word and the world and fighting for critical thought throughout all courses on campus. Also one who is a champion of equity not equality, a champion ofcritical intallectuals and racial, cultural, sexual, and gender diversity in hiring practices. To tell you the truth Mr. Mohan this person could be a five year old or 105 and anywhere inbetween.
