In recent years Subjective Cognitive Impairment (SCI) has been referred to as Subjective Cognitive Decline (SCD) because a person who is complaining of experiencing cognitive problems is more than likely at this time describing a ‘decline’ from a previous state, rather than an actual ‘impairment’. The research literature varies from viewing SCD as being predominantly focused on memory, whilst others equally focus on memory and other cognitive processes. With this in mind I am interested in finding out what people think are the defining characteristics of SCD.
