Preprint The State and the Citizen

The construction of a social order of a democratic nature is only possible when freedom is intrinsic to all its members. Freedom can take several forms; it is the expression of thought, creation, choice, association, entrepreneurship and others, always present in the operational of the various concepts. Equality, basic to all men, derives from the acceptance that all are born equal, endowed with the same dignity as a person, sacred and inviolable, insofar as they share the same moral and spiritual patrimony. Equal in dignity and singularity, men have the right to seek, throughout their existence, their personal realization differentiated, own, non-transferable and in line with the standards imposed by the group. However, conscious of their essential dignity and the precariousness of earthly existence, men are required to have the duty of fraternity, which will also serve, in our culture, as a guiding parameter of social life.
