although your question is aimed on men, I´m interested in this topic and I read a few articles recently about sex robot "Harmony", etc. From my point of view, these robots could help physically and mentally disabled people to solve their sexual needs - e.g. those living in institutional care facilities or to help people with sexual disorders such as pedophilia. Also there is a possibility that facilities providing sexual services decide to replace real prostitutes with real dolls, who knows? There are already some new businesses using real dolls in Europe. And the last, but not least, as it is generally known, there are many singles, especially in Asian countries who can use sex robots which are able to remember emotions, habits, to speak...as their "partner", so they will not feel so lonely. I don´t think that these dolls will replace real women, it is something new and interesting, some kind of "bubble", so I believe that many men (but women as well) will be curious and they would like to try that feeling, but with regard to the prices of such dolls, according to me they will remain as some kind of fad in case of individuals who are married or live with their partners.

Dear Barbara, I like that you have highlighted many possible promises and prospect of the use of sex robot. Thank you. But don't you think that despite the sensors embedded therein to mimic the woman that the sex robot will never be able to satisfy male's emotional need even though she may potentially serve his sexual desire? I think the absence of conflict situations which enliven man-woman interface will be absent here. I mean also that the sex robot may reduce the male's ability to manage future personal and interpersonal conflicts?

Yes, I completely agree with you. Of course, the existence /presence of sex robot as a part of a daily-routine or as a substitution of a real partner could have (and probably will have) much more negative side effects. I do not consider a every day life with a sex robot to be healthy, especially for menthal health of the owner. For me, a personal interaction, exchange of information, opinions, views and disputes...cannot be replaced by the robot, however technically perfect it would be. I only see the possibility to use it as a sexual toy from time to time as some kind of "pros", but from emotional and maybe also physical perspective it is very questionable. It may also teach the user not to respect real partner´s feelings (also those sexual), as he / she may get used to be a "lord of a situation" with a space for realization all sexual desires. It will be interesting to follow how this new way of interaction will change the life of human beings.
