In exploring the rules of sociological method, Durkheim points to a number of social facts with special characteristics. These social facts are coercive by nature so much so they can infiltrate the determination of individuals and their manners of thinking and acting on which they have no control. by using certain social rules, Durkheim tries to explain that the rate suicide in different communities has important underlying causes rooted in the defining features of those communities. Thanks alot for sharing the useful files and your point of view. But there is an unanswered question here : Why should we apply Durkheim's theory to all societies while the new reason and factors for commiting suicide pop up!? I think we need to define a new justificatin or ideology for modern suicides.
