My research trajectory: Analyzing Pakistan's middle class as a driver of growth; consumption pattern and empirical forecast.
I am badly stuck with devising research methodology due to lack of comprehensive work in Pakistan.
My query : What pointer you would suggest as a starting point? or Cobb–Douglas production function (Solow) is preferable in case of Pakistan? when availability of data is a major constraint, also I find this function bit difficult, so any alternative research methodology?

I would recommend before deciding on the methodology, put together a compelling conceptual/theoretical framework that explains how a strong and growing middle class and a strong and growing economy are linked. This explanation will help outline the key factors (income, consumption, investment, entrepreneurship, societal conditions, better governance, education, etc.) which you could analyze qualitatively, quantitatively or via a mixed-method study. The middle class is the source of economic growth. Hope this helps, good luck!

I would suggest you use the PWT9.1 database for (at least) part of your data.
I agree with Dr.@Lyusyena that you should put together middle-class growth and economic growth - suggesting you to do correlational studies between the variables.
