It was observed that all the specimens failed in Cu-alloy base. The test was conducted from RT to 627 deg C. But it was observed that there was abrupt change in ductility at 627 deg C, the ductility decrease from 15-20% to 3 to 4 %. So what would be the possible reason for it.

The reduction in plasticity in this alloy is due to structural changes in the process of heating and thermal stresses in the welding zone. It is good to grind micro-structural analysis of the samples. Furthermore, the altitude of the studied alloy is the measured hardness. If the hardness has increased in the research zones, then a re-crystallization process has occurred. As known in Cu heating, it becomes stronger, after cooling with water, it softens. This Cu's behavior also contributed to the reduced plasticity.

How long do you heat your samples at 627°C? You may take a change of the microstructure due to interdiffusion of Cu and Ni into account.
