I have tested FeMn-based porous materials in SBF (immersion). Now it is required to clean the corrosion products for further testing. Conventionally, a solution of HCl and Hexamethylene Tetramine is used, however, hexamethylene tetramine isn't readily available to me. Therefore I am looking for alternatives.
Can anyone suggest good alternatives, with chemicals that do not harm the material itself and only clean out the corrosion products? It would be great if you could reference any research article using your suggestive method as well.

But it's crucial to test it on a small sample to ensure it doesn't adversely affect your material.

You can use EDTA aqeous solution paired with ultrasonication for cleaning corrosion products
