After application of organo-silicone (drench) and sulphur-gold there was a sudden yellowing of the young leaves (shoot) which also curled.
What might have led to this.
Please advice. Or could it have been these chemicals causing this or it mighty have resulted from other sources.
What are the likely possibilities that caused these onset of symptoms that occurred suddenly.
This chlorosis appears to be related to immobile micronutrient from an alkaline soil environment. It looks from the symptomatology as a case of iron chlorosis. Tissue analysis and soil analysis can more effectively determine the situation. Once the nutrient disbalances are identified foliar and soil amendments can reverse the situation and serve to corroborate the cause of the issue.
Iron Deficiency
Leave are yellow with principal veins light green. Use iron chelate (1/4 teaspoon per bush) for immediate correction. Iron sulfate takes longer to act.
EDTA Sequestrene is the product usually used to remedy iron chlorosis. The concentration is applied till the dripping of the foliar and take observation every week repeating until all chlorosis is eliminated. Plants usually recover completely especially in perennial rose bushes.
I agree with the deficiency of some micronutrient. However, you should observe if there are any viruses or virus transmitting vectors in the culture environment. Often these behave opportunistically and take advantage of the nutritional depression of plants.
Chlorosis related to virus is usually irregular in pattern and symptom distribution. In addition virus will usually have a distortion of the growth twisting and puckering. Most viruses are transmitted by leaf sucking insects such as aphids and leaf hoppers these vectors will hone in on the chlorotic color to feed since chlorotic plants generally have more soluble nitrogen which is their biggest need. If the nutrient analysis and corrective nutrition does not work the virus hypothesis would have to be examined in greater detail and effort but I do not think the symptoms are typical virus symptoms.
