Metallurgical engineer who has never performed DSC and now I am working with polymers. Am able to do the test on the equipment however I am still facing troubles with interpreting the curve that I obtain. Please help!

First work out the TGA analyses of your polymer sample. Then observe the degradation temperatures occurred in TGA. At the approximately similar temperatures, you will also observed DSC peaks (endo or exothermic), which will designate the heat transfer due to the corresponding weight loss in TGA. Also, you can obtain significant information about glass transtion temperature, melting point, stability of polymer backbone from DSC.
